The issue of A-arm has been covered before I know but mine seems a bit weird. I've crawled under the car to look for the cause of the graunching sort of clunk that it gets on acceleration & deceleration in low gear. The bushes in the A-arm just don't seem right to me, it's as if the brackets are welded onto the chassis at the wrong angle and the bushes are cockeyed. Is this normal:confused:
Looks like a $hit of a job to reassemble! There's a definite wear mark where the arm is contacting the bracket.
Also, when I had the CD locked on the weekend there was a pronounced deep clunk from the rear over ruts & whatnot, where it would get small amounts of wind up then release, which sounded to me like the ball joint but LR are new to me so I can't be sure. With the CD unlocked the backlash takes it up & it's not noticeable at all.
So I think I may be up for both but, again, I'm concerned about the geometry of the arm/brackets.
