Hi
I have a two door too, yours looks very straight and clean.
The only thing I was dubious about is the plug leads resting on the top of the rocker covers, won't they melt and/or earth?
The rear window seals, I was looking for one too I couldn't find one, I got an old crappy one and just cleaned it up a bit. I didn't try the dealers in case I had a heart attack.
I wouldn't mind the 4.4 though :)
One word of advise is get a dash mat for your 2 door mine is now so brittle I snap bits off on a regular basis. Yours looks in good nick it would be good to keep it that way.
good luck with it

Hi Rocky, i'm pretty sure there isnt a seal in the top tailgate window, when i cut mine down to a ute i shortened the frame and there was only a rubber strip that is folded over the edge of the glass and then pushed into the frame.
silicone it up may be the easiest fix as the bolts that hold the frame together get rusted bad.

How do you find this setup. I see this combination spring/shock on ebay and thinking about it for the 110. Id like konis but $1k is a lot of dosh just for the shocks on a car that is lucky to do 10000km/yr.

I just read this whole thread, and gotta say, you have done a fantstic job so far. I like the black carpets, where you get them from, just any carpet shop, or an autoshop? Also, where did you get the rubber flares from? Im planning on putting bigger rubber on mine (33 12.5 15) so ill be needing to cut guards and put flares.
Good work, keep the pictures coming, they are inspirational ;)

Thanks mate, The carpet is marine carpet which i cut to size and used a heat gun to mould to the Ranige then used Quik grip to hold it down.
I run 33's and bought some 75mm rubber flares which i got from TJM for arounf $80 for a 6 meter roll.

Yep there are some that will try and get as much mud on theirs then like to drive to the office and not wash there cars for a couple of weeks just to say.... ''I've been off road''.
One thing you'll notice, Land Rovers don't need badges saying 4x4 stuck on the rear or on the bodywork or Mudflaps that have white lettering saying 4x4 . After all we LR drivers know we drive a 4x4 and do need to remind everyone else in the world. LOL

hi
I was wondering where your air-con radiator is ? is that the part of the radiator on the left or is that the oil cooler?
Was your new radiator from a wreckers or new and about what did it cost.
Did you have to cut the old viscous bolt to fit the new electric fans?

Its a bullet proof rangie! Speaking about air cons as air pumps, whats involved in that? I like to use my air con as a air pump for stuff like tyres etc, but dont know how to go about it. Is it difficult to convert?

What a great build up and X cellent pics... A question... Would you say you have spent more than 10G on the build?? The reason I ask is I have my car for sale for that much and when you look at everything you have done I reckon you must have spent near that?? My car also has High Mount Winch, 4.4 now 5ltr and Maxi rear end locker and is a genuine 1 owner....
Curious...

Hi
I was thinking maybe of doing the radiator mod to my rangie come summer if it gets too hot.
I was wondering how you managed to fit the smaller radiator hose to the RRC water pump as the hose is much bigger than the one in your pics.
thanks

Very easy to convert. Just remove all the hoses from the air con pump. Measure up the length of hose you need to go from the air con pump to a tank you need to mount somewhere in the Rangie. Then go to an auto refirigeration supplier and buy a legth of hose and get them to crimp a fitting onto one end. (take the threaded fitting on the air con pump with you so they can fit the correct joiner.) You will need one hose to go to the tanks and another short hose for the intake. I just ran my intake to the firewall up high. The intake will also need a similar fitting crimped to one end.
It is worthwhile spending the extra money and getting proper air con hose and crimp fittings. When I first did the conversion I just used standard air hose and hose clamps and due to the high pressure and heat they just kept popping off.
For the tanks I just bought a cheap $80 21l compressor from bunnings and removed the motor. This then gave me a tanks and switch and pressure valve all in one.

If you want to keep yr A/C it's pretty much what walker said but get a second hand A/C pump and make some very easy brackets and mount the new A/C pump on top of the old one an get the right size belt (from mazda i think) this all all given you have a 2" body lift.

Yes nice build up.
How have you found the Matt Black. I was thinking of doing my ute in a Matt color but was told that matt was a lot harder to clean and was not as hard as a gloss enamel so scratched easier????

Fantastic stuff... certainly making my thing look really bad
I recon mine will be close to 5gs with gas, but still got stock diffs/axels. So I recon another 3gs would bring it up to your specs too. Considering how much a newish 4x4 costs these days, anything under 10gs is a CHEAP 4x4.

I had a few ppl tell me that but so far its been good, Gets muddy as just broom it off and touch ups are easy as if any damage is done.:o

Well It's been ages since i updated my Thread and have done a fair bit to the old girl and spent way to much aswell.
After i installed the rear maxi drive locker i went to Beat this hill that has been beating the rangie for ages and anyone else who trys.......Its Does not look that steep but you could bearly stand up trying to walk up her... It seems at the steepest point the ww2 stromberg floods and she dies which is fine but the master cylinder **** it's self so i had no brakes rolled back up the ledge and nearly rolled her.

A tip for the New Version of the Arb locker i was the first in oz to fit, The main Problem i had was were you fit the Carrier bearing to the ARB locker the Spindle size has changed from the old lockers so after a bit of stuffing around we got the right size bearing and advised Arb of the Problem which they had no idea of even know the had allready made about 1,500 of the new lockers and i was the first to fit one, Also the carrier bearing cap on the side with the actuator had to be machined down so it would fit, Bit off mucking around but ARB were great and covered "some" of the costs

Have heard about problems with the spaces ppl use to fit these manifolds so i decided to graft the 3.5 manifold to the 4.4 manifold.
