Hi guys any hints as to how one removes the radio from D1 Discovery, is it a special tool from Rover or can I do it with a couple of bits of Coat Hanger. You know the 4 holes in the radio fascia.

I just use 4 split pins or similar bits of wire, push them all in and pull the Rad out.

4 50MM NAILS DO THE TRICK. putting it back in taks a bit of a wobble to get the wires out of the road and the clips to lock. I put a piece of timber under the radio to support its weight because after a while it will crack the plactic face.

Mine slides in/ out no problems and there is heaps of space behind, there is a clip that holds a rubber grommet that fits on the back of the stereo that supports it.

do a quick length measurement,
my alpine was 25mm longer than the special rossi radio (remember swizel sticks?:D) I took out,,
and if your planning to go off road,, nows the time to buy an fm spring steel aeriel to go on the bullbar.
