My D2 TD5 has objected to the underbody car wash & has decided that the auto gearbox is hot - all the time. I am thinking that a wire has been dislodged by the pressure washer.

Can someone tell me where the sender unit is.
Thanks
Rory

From what I can see it is located, strangely not on the box itself - but on the RH end of the transmission oil cooler, on the underside.

Thanks, I suspected as much but just couldn't see anything in the dark & with water dripping in my eyes. I will have a look tonight.

There's also provision for a transfer case over-temperature switch, but some versions don't have the switch so the wires are just pushed up above the xfer case. This switch operates the same warning light.

i get the trans temp light when i work the girl a bit hard is there a chance that the un-needed wiring is the problem?
