is the pin worn or the housing/hinge it sits in.......?
if the pin is worn....its just a piece of rod that has been hardened so it wont wear too quick.....
if its the housing worn......it can be repaired also.....you can either get the hole welded up and re-drilled......
or....you can just drill it out a little bigger and use an appropriate sized pin to suit the new hole......

Or fit a new bush. We had a thread about this recently.

I tried looking for it but the search function doesn't seem that good.
We may need the chap who located the bushes at a bearing place to come forward.
....
Found it! See http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php't=30714

No
When mine sagged a friend who ran the Cockatoo Island workshop, drilled out the hinges and made new pins from knurled Monel. ( your taxes at work)
Problem is that rod does not come in small enough diameter increase so I think he machined Monel rod down.

you also have pins in your brake calipers.....
compare the diameter of those.......

I just put some extra packing under the bottom hinge.
Doesn't fix the problem - just makes it easier to close the door.

The Bottom hing has two metal packers under it, So i might have to look into a new hing.

The other thing to check on 2 doors, is the internal cross brace buckles where it attaches near the lower hinge, where it has a large hole in it!
This happenned on my 76 model and the door dropped quite rapidly as the metal around the lower hinge cracked and distorted, but easeily fixed by welding in some reinforcements to the brace.

sorry to drag up an old thread but I thought it was better than starting another new one - my doors are about 1/4 inch too low and they do close but if you put weight into them only.
my 81 2 door has a large spacer under each hinge at the bottom of the door, a good 1/8th inch thick, so should I just look at new hinges all together, there doesn't appear to be any warping visually of the frame/panel the hinges bolt onto on the car itself.
but I must admit I have no idea what I am looking for or what this pin is your all talking about :(:confused:

I am happy to buy new hinges, but the ones on the car now seem fairly solid and don't appear to have much play at all, or is that just because they are under a fair bit of weight?
Is it the hinges which cause the door sag on 2dr range rovers?

The doors are very heavy. I have seen the car lean when you open one door.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but before I splash out $200 plus on hinges, is that the common issue for door sag?
What are the pins talked about in laymans terms for a person like me who is thick and isn't sure thus asks? Do I need to reinforce the body where the hinges attach? is this the cause?
Again, I am happy to spend the cash, but I don't like the idea of spending the cash to find out I have shiny new hinges but doors which still don't close properly.
