the rear prop in the 90 binds with the rear wheels off the ground. thanks to scouse for finding this for me.
so over the past 4 months ive been looking for a way to fit a stronger/greater angle tail shaft in.
101FC(1310) stuff will fit but every option i came across, that was bolt in, had the small 1300 series uni.
i wasnt about to spend megga bucks to import one or get one made here in oz. so i was under the 90 looking at the front tail shaft and noticed that the front uni's are huge compaired to the rears.
fronts are 1330series. 27mm caps and 92mm cross
rears are 1300series. 27mm caps and 74mm cross.
101FC are 1310 series. 27mm caps and 80mm crosses
load ratings are; 1330. constant 162Nm short 815Nm
1330. constant 203Nm short 1206Nm.
so i found a front td5 shaft at the right price, thanks tombraider! and started the cut up job.
a re tube costs $220! and thats just to add the 140mm i was short! the same tube cost me $43.00 thats enough to do 2 shafts...
the rest is cutting the ends off and lining everything up and welding together.

new length of tube at rear.

slip joint now fitted to new tube, ready for welding.

shaft ready for painting, and or ballancing, if it needs it.
the only thing im not sure is why the front shaft is phased and the rear isnt??
cheers phil
ps. ive done this before!
