Anyone replaced these on a 2000 fender? and if so what are they worth?? should i be getting a mechanic to do it to set up all the steering? also does anyone know if it is worth buying original or ones that are regresable???

Easy to fit as long as they haven't rusted into the bar, not likely out where you are in a 2000 mod though. They are available through British 4x4 (system sponsor I think?) and about 40 to 50 buckeroos each, and will be greasable good quality ones .

You can do your own toe adjustment after If you like, 0 to 2 mm toe out is specs, or just measure the length of the bar before you remove the ends, fit the new ones and adjust to measurements, then get a wheel aligner to check and adjust accurately. I have a sliding bar to do toe out adjustments, and is a whole lot easier on a hoist.

I ahve also come across a few aligners who insist they should be toed in, WRONG. The database on some wheel alignment machines tells them this, and the info is incorrect.

Or you could get Big Jon to come round and do it in his spare time for a carton of stout....He buys whole landies with this exchange rate after all....!

Run a tap down the threads in the rods to clean out any crud, and a die down the rod ends if they look rusty or doggy.Clean away any swarf, and re-assemble with Loctite Anti-sieze on the threads. The thread size is 11/16" x 16tpi NS left and right hand.
