has anyone here got one, seen one or even used one to weld aluminium?
I've got a fatigue crack in the back of the Defender wheel arch that I want to weld and the local aluminium welders don't think their machines are right for the job and an internet search has come up with the Henrob oxy/acet torch.
any help

I have used henrob torches for years, however not for welding/cutting applications.
I use them for some applications in glassblowing. The needle point flame yet can get with the small tip is excellent.
I can tell you they are a fantastic torch. Very reliable as far as valves etc are concerned. Very robust.
Having said that I dont see why a BOC comet wouldn't weld aluminium. Much cheaper torch.

I've got a comet 3 torch but haven't used it on the Defender panels.
The information I have by those that have that is that it is nearly impossible to stop blowing holes as you weld and this is where the Henrob come into its own with the needle point flame and the exellent control
