Looks very tidy. What are the plans for it? Off road weapon, shopping trolley or somewhere in between?

Well its going to be the shopping trolley for the next year while we do stuff to the house . Then in a year i will be buying a Disco 2 as a family truck and this will be made into a challenge truck :)
But not bad for $2750, so does not matter what the hell i do to it for that price :D :D

For that price I have to ask. What's wrong with it? Or is it just really high kms?

Well that certainly is a result - it wouldn't matter if it was a 2,3, 4 or 5 door at that dosh.
Bloody good buy. Enjoy it.

Well know the ideals for doing that as Andy who built that lived round the corner from me in the Uk and i was the chairman of the Shires and he was my Vice chairman and a team mate on Off road winch challenges. The truck above Moglite does have a disco chassis like mine so its an idea but i think they won't let it in most of the winch challenges
But Nah proberley get glen at Brothers to make it into a ute and then would like to do the outback challange in it but looking at least two years away for that :)

When I was looking 6-12 months ago Brissie Discos with that many kms were still asking $6k+ and those were the ones that looked mistreated. The good condition high km ones were closer to $10k. I think you got very lucky. However they seemed to stay for sale forever. The owners never seemed to like my comparatively low offers.
I had to go to Sydney to get one for a realistic price.
Assuming you did buy it in Brisbane.

yeah got it in Brissy
It needs a bit of tidy but as you say i have seen ones for 6K which are real piles of crap . But thats only a new roof lining as the one in is sagging. But the dash it not pealing which is a first :)

Well that's a pretty good deal then.
Wasn't the dash peal sorted by 1996? My 1994 model has the dash clamp thing fitted to hold the peal down. Either way I've seen the dash base assembly for a 1997 under $50 on ebay before. Would have got it if it was in Brissy.

Even with those KMs that is excellent buying. Never seen one that cheap here in Adelaide.
If only the V8s didn't drink so much I'd be getting one for my daughter as a first car. Much better than some tinny Jap micro car in an accident.

Bargain Reads!:)
I hope you're going to document, photo and post details of all the changes to turn it into an Outback Challenge truck? That will be one to see!

Well as we have the 90 and the company ute i don't really need it on the road asap. So i will not get rego on it yet.
I am going to go from one end to the other stripping and checking everything. I have a load of spare parts left over from the trip around aus. Got a complete set of bushes which i am going to put on and a full new set of surpension.Got Loads of Uj's , stub axles, and wheel bearings and And then check everything else
Replace all oils and fluids.
And of course buy some bolt on toys for it .:D
Also been told and form past expeiance the head gaskets on the 3.9 tend to go around 150,000 miles or 250,000 K's so while it is in my garage going to change the head gasket while i am at it so i don't have to do it later:)
Then see what happens as it will be on the road in about a month or two
