I will try to do better from now on......
Series 3 lightweight still going well, (What have I just said??), apart from a leaking front hub.I think this leaked much worse after I topped up the front diff with oil recently, so hopefully when it finds its non leak level it will be ok. I shall get my LR guru to have a look, though.
On another tack, I am very much a "support our troops" man. I wondered where the Australian army were operational, and do the people of the country agree with them being there?

G'day FerrymanUK :)
Your oil leak sounds like the seals in the end of the diff tubes, R217400 :) as they will allow the Diff oil to leak down to the swivels and past the Swivel seal and overfill the swivels;).
Australian Troops are/were operating in Southern Iraq and some in Bagdad also there are quite a few in Afganistan:)

Australia has army units in Southern Iraq. The only troops in Bagdad, I believe, are providing protection to the Australian Embassy. There are Australian units in Afghanistan, and in East Timor. There have been Australian troops in the Solomons, not sure whether they still are.
There is general support for Australian troop deployment in all theatres except Iraq, where the Federal Opposition (Labor) is going into the election later in this year with the policy of withdrawing Australian troops from Iraq. Current polls show the Opposition ahead of the Government, and Iraq is considered to be one of the main reasons. But of course - the election is not now, and polls may well change before the election. In my view, the majority of the electorate do not have strong feelings on Iraq, but a few casualties could change this - as far as I can remember there have been almost no combat casualties and no deaths except a few accidents.

Much the same feeling over here regarding troops in Iraq, Mr Blair has a lot to answer for.I wear a "support our troops" lapel badge, and have a sign saying the same on my outside wall. Not much I know, but if the guys and gals know you are backing them, they feel better. Still expect some office wallah from the council to come and tell me to remove it.
Re hub leak, we are keeping the situation under observation at present, apparently the breather pipe on top of the axle casing can get blocked and cause seal leaks. Don't ask me how, but I removed mine and made sure it was ok.I guess the seal will have to get done.

G'day FerrymanUK :)
A blocked axle breather will cause an Axle/Diff assy to pressurize and that will cause the oil to push past the seals, it is the major cause of Diff Pinion Seal leaks;) (Remove wash in Petrol/Solvent until you can hear the little ball bearing rattle and refit)
cheers
