Ok, i'm debating something with an idiot on the overlander forum about the cruiser / patrol vs d3, and he keeps bringing up 4wdm mag breaking the D3 on their cape comparo, who has the full story, or the link to the thread where it was discussed?
I'm enjoying the debate, but I also want some more facts ;)

From memory the consensus here was water in a rear connector and abuse by the drivers.

Phoenix, your trying to make a point to Ferrit, that's like beating a dead horse:eek:
Sahara at least sounds to be fairly reasonable.

G'day All, I agree with LandroverMick even though I have never posted, they seem to think the L/Rover is just a pile of crap, well i have news for them and it's all bad, trouble with them idiots is they believe all that s**t that's fed to them by that other a******e on sydney radio called golden tonsils etc etc, funny how they never say anything about their pride and joy when it s**ts itself, as I know from personal experience the amount of people who have had nothing but trouble but with their beloved jap crap but anyway we all know how biased I am cheers Dennis:wasntme: ;) :p

What is the link to the thread?
I never post on that forum either anymore. Too many 'mine is better than yours' people. I've got better things to do than argue with idiots on the internet. Although the occaisional look doesn't hurt :)

I heard that LRs reasoning was that it was driven thru "silty water" ie. if you drove the D3 thru nice clean water it wouldnt have happened.

Having read through that thread (mostly) I can say I am truely happy for AULRO. Peace and quiet. Outerlimits can get a bit roudy sometimes but at least it is mostly Land Rover friendly.

I played around with him for a while in that thread. Most of what he says if falsifyable and so it makes him a bit of fun to toy with.

Its a very amusing thread. I think I've given up trying to inject a bit of reality in there. Note the editor of OL is defending Landies, which is a good thing compared with the attitude at other Oz 4WD magazines, where they make up excuses to bag them.

Yeah Slunnie, it's a bit of fun to play with people like that sometimes. Who has the video of the D3 being driven up that deep stream still? that would be handy

Yes good to see the editor of a major 4wd mag defending the brand. Makes for a change compared to the past. Still think it has alot to do with the massive amount of marketing LR Australia has been doing in these mags in the last few years.
