Too far for me, JD. Travel costs balanced against returns. Nowadays I only go to one swap meet further from Brisbane than 100 miles. That is the annual swap meet at the National Motor Cycle Museum, Nabiac, restricted to hobby related items. The motor cyclists generally restrict their meets to prevent them becoming flea markets as so many have. This year's event is on Sunday 25th. March.

Had an enjoyable day, albeit very hot, Dubbo reached 38C. Not very Landrovery - no Landrovers on display, although I did see a S3 GS, and a RR with oversize tyres and raised suspension in the parking area. Parking attendant asked me what sort of a car I was driving (County). Talked to one stall holder about the wind deflectors on the bullbar of his Defender - he couldn't help me - they were there when he bought it, but he said it was the best car he had ever owned. I think it was a Td5, although I was looking at the bullbar not the vehicle.
The only Landrover related item I bought was a pair of headlight bulbs for the S2a - at $2 each, I could not go past them, and paid $4 for a spring balance for setting swivel preload.

One of the more interesting exhibits was a man from Blayney who had driven there in his Stanley Steamer. Said he had restored it himself, and he did a good job of it. The tyres are an odd size - 34x4 1/2 - and he said they cost $500 each plus $50 for a tube and $20 for the rust band (made in India).

Also a 1908 Brush car. Single cylinder engine - wooden axles - suspension by coil springs in tension; with no dampers (think about that for a moment!).

1929 Chev bus - varnished wooden body, no window glass except the windscreen (roll up side screens), beautifully finished, I suspect the body was all new, the varnish enabled you to see how well the dovetail joints were made.
