Sunday 4th Feb went out with West Coast 4x4 club on trip led by slates who owns a LR D3 TDV6 coil sprung who took the group of 10 vehicles (1 Dr 3, 1 range rover 93, 2 short wheel pajero's and a mixture of Nissan and Toyotas nearly all modified with diff locks, raised suspension, large tyres on a trip from sawyers valley, along the powerline track towards Mr Helens lookout and back towards Mundaring.
Some scrabbling up and over dips, ditches and rocky outcrops through dried out water obstacles and crossings a pleasant half day drive

Had hungover from AULOR as my passenger for the day, pleasant company and we had long talks about his range rover 2 door 1981 model and the 1993 range rover like a pair of gloating parents on sports day.
Thanks for the company Steve

Hi Cartm58
I was up at Mt Observation on Sunday, just had lunch was just starting out on a bush walk when the quiet picnic spot was invaded:)
There were some nice looking 4bees there. If I knew a fellow AULROIAN was there I would have stopped for a chat. I just advised one of the girls with the party I was heading for a walk and the area was free and asked how long you would all be there.
That's my D2 in your second to last photo.
When I got back a while later you all had gone, and I found a guy with a push bike sitting near my car. He had ridden from York and didn't have any water left. Long story short I ended up dropping him off in Kalamunda. I would hate to think what would happened to him if I left him out there.

yes as we pulled up we saw you getting out the D2 all business like with map, hydration pack and cap about to set off, we had called into the park so the ladies could use the loos and to have a look at the palm fruit which was an interesting to see but the wildlife had eaten the fruit berries just leaving the pineapple shaped bundles in the middle of the palm.
Steve and l were in the green Range Rover parked to your driver side rear and slates the trip leader was in the White D3

I wonder if AULRO should have a sort of Masons, hello so you know who's a member :D:D:D:D
couple of pics: 1. D3 doing a wheelie 2. typical terrain
It was a bit odd being a passenger but still beat staying at home and cartm58's aircon worked all day without overheating the engine like mine :)
phil tidy looking disco, shame we didn't know who you were.
