What size are the tyres and wheels in question?

All i know is that - Wheels are 7x15 matt black sunraysia style rims. Tyres are older style 32x11.5R15 Cooper STT's. Does that help?

I presume they are an evbay item. Do you know what they are off.

**Update: Pardon me for stuffing up: As you'll see further on in this thread, those rims will fit Marek's defender ( even up to this years defender).Of course whether they'll fit under the guards is another question.**

Generally no - anything (except def) with TD5 or better has the new stud pattern. Any ad suitable for you will specify that. ( Rangie from 1995, Disco from 99?)

That is right "NEW STUD PATTERN" but how do I actually know what that is. Is there a more specific way of stating that? Those wheels are from a Defender but I do not know what year. How do you tell the new and old pattern appart?

The distance inbetween the holes is bigger on the newer models
PCH = 5.25 from memory

Is the new stud pattern the same for Defenders, Discos and RangeRovers?
Or are they all new but all different? Sorry for my ignorance, and thank you for all your wisdom.

** Update: As above, I've stuffed up: Defenders are old style stud pattern:**
Or, there is generally nothing in 15 inch radius for new stud patten. 16-17-18-inch I believe is it ( And the 18 inch are bling bling type wheels, not off road). And, yes the new stud pattern (same diameter as Holden, but with bigger studs) is the same for new RR, Disco2, NOT Def. Don't know about freelander. ( You never know, measure one up)

You can get R18 offroad tyres nowadays but the price on them. Besides the wouldn't bag out very well.

I thought the TD5 Defender had the same old stud pattern as before. I thought it was only the D2 and P38 that changed.

I don't own one though.

Exactly the same [both counts] here.;)

Confirming that - Defenders up to and including 2007 have the same stud pattern that was introduced in 1948. So did all Discoveries and Rangrovers up to the change with the Disco 2 and the P38, which introduced the new pattern. Was this the BMW influence? or just to be different?

Only LR vehicles with the newer stud pattern mentioned are Disco II and P38 Rangies as far as I know..

The Disco 3 is different again I believe... and I have no idea about Rangies after p38a ( out of my price bracket..:p)

So marek - I think the short answer is those rims will NOT fit a TD5 Disco but should fit a TD5 defender...

Cheers,
Mark

Disco2 and 3 are interchangeable!!!!!
Yes the Stud pattern of the pictured rims will fit your Defender,I would be making sure the offset is OK.

My apologies gentlemen...I just had a flick thru Disco white's Defender 90 picture gallery- and he has a pic of his front hub: Old style! I would swear that the mags I've seen on defender extremes floating around were new style, but obviously I'm wrong.

I was under the impression that although the PCD was the same and the offset different by a minimal amount, the problem was that the wheel nuts are different specs and so is the centre centralising hub.

Wrong way around, newer are smaller, D1/ RRC/ all S1/2/3 County/Def are 5x 6.5 ¨pcd.
