Can anybody tell me if sill tanks off a Range Rover will fit a 1995 Discovery?

I am not sure about the model of R/R they came out of , but should be able to find out if needed.

Thanks

Andrew

Check under your floor, if you dont extra seat reinforcements that are at 45 degreeś then they will fit, some tanks are made for both and have cutouts on the outside to allow for the bracing.

I have some that I plan to fit under my 98 disco. I can't see much problem.

There is a stiffener under the floor that hangs down lower than the one on rangies. I will just bend this up a little on mine.

My tanks use the bottom bolt used for the gearbox mount on rangies. My disco does not have a bolt in the same position, so I will have to drill another hole in the chassis.

I don't have ABS, so don't have anything mounted under the sills.

Just last week I fitted twin sill tanks to my Disco I.
I think Rangie ones would fit in the same space underneath but I would also take a look at the fuel filler pipe set-up.
The angled braces mentioned earlier are the deciding factor I would imagine.

As a side note.
Exactly how vital is it that the breather pipes remain at the highest point of the systems plumbing? I have noticed petrol in my breather pipes and wondered if I should re-route them to get them higher up? (if thats possible)

Thanks.

Regards.

I put one in my disco 1 from a rangie. as mentioned there is a 45*bracket from chaasis to the floor on the disco that the rangie does not have. But a spot weld drill tookcare of that. I mean i took my bracket off and fitted my tank with no problems. will one day fit the other one.(maybe).

I bought sill tanks for water and fuel for my rangie from Long Range Automotive about 5 or 6 years back.

I dug out the instructions for fitting these, because I intend fitting them to my disco I in a couple of weeks time.

The instructions that came with the tanks, clearly say that they are for the disco I.

I looked under both sills of my 300Tdi disco I (1998 year model) and there is nothing that resembles a bracket at 45*, or of any other type, which will be in the way. Only the longitudinal floor stiffener that needs to be bent up a bit (the brake line is attached to the one on the left side, but nothing to the one on the right - v8's may be different).
