Yesterday I drained, flushed and changed all the oils in the County-Isuzu, five speed, 420,000k's. A Castrol rep. suggested I use Syntrans 75w85 in the transmission, saying I would be very pleased with the difference. I asked MR Auto at Redcliffe and was told Yes, Indeed, well worth the extra money and you will be surprised at the improvement. Well, I am very pleased and pleasantly surprised. I find it hard to believe the difference a type of oil can make. Quieter, and the changes go through like s**t through a goose. The thing now changes like a well run in Spicer heavy truck box, instead of the slow notchy light truck feeling it has always had since I bought it.

With hot Canberra summers and freezing cold Canberra winter mornings the oil I was using wasn't working for me in my Disco. I put in SynTrans and it worked really well in all temperatures - was well paying the extra dollars.
I have it in my Freelander as well - works well.

Been using it for three years, big difference, gear changes much more smooth, I also noticed on long distance runs at higher speeds, box is much cooler running!.:D

It was recommended to me on two separate occasions, by people who specialise in farm machinery maintainence.
