Hi guys,
I've been reading up on spark plug leads as I am up for a new set.
This forum seems to think Magnecor and Gasmaster are the way to go.
I have had quotes from both of them for a set for my 3.9L V8 1994 Disco.
The Magnecor quote was $160 delivered ($145 + $15p&h) This was for 7mm.
The Gasmaster quote was $111 delivered ($98.12 + $12.50p&h) GM8041
So for those in the know. Is Magnecor really $49 or 30% better than Gasmaster?

I was talking leads with Fred Smith a while back and while I am not sure of the brand, he uses stainless leads in his vehicles. The best thing is that they last for years and his old Rangie that was his courtesy car was straight gas - and it loved them.
Might be worth giving him a call to see what he has to recommend.

I have had Magnacore on My 3.9 for 6 years with no problems.
You have to make the decision but $49 over say 10 years is not a lot.

That is true but from what I've read they are both top quality leads so they should both last a long time. So if you do get what you pay for then the Gas master might last 9 years and the Magnacor 10 years. So it is $49 for that last year of use and considerably less than that for the previous years.
All that is irrelevant though as if I have this car for more than 5 or 6 years then I will be surprised.

The Gasmaster website did mention that they had stainless steel spiral stuff inside them so maybe they are what he uses. The Gasmaster website specifically mentioned that LPG vehicles went well with spiral stainless leads. Which is good as I may go to gas in the future.

I did see the Magnacor UK site. I don't think they could have crammed more data and info on that site if they tried. Problem with that is it is boring :D
I'll probably just go with the Gasmaster leads. As if I didn't get either of these two I would have just got standard TopGun ones from SuperCheap and no doubt both of these are better than that.

I have used both gasmaster (at present) and magnecor. I personaly cant tell any difference between them. I was going to buy magnecor but a friend who works at Ritters suggested I try Gasmaster. Been very happy with them so far. (probably about 6 years old now) Its your money, your decision.

I just added magnecor 8mm leads last week. I paid $148 and $10 postage. I had issues with the current leads (Eurospare) only after 6 months. 8,7,5,3 all sparking. Also found out that the last mechanic had left a huge gap in the platium sparkplugs.
Anyway I had the magnecor HT leads added and Bosch super 4 sparkplugs. My Disco is now running like a dream. I think the 8mm leads are an extra $8.

DiscoDiver,
What model year Discovery do you have? Disco I or Disco II?

I have just had my 94 Range Rover classic with the serpentine belt setup 3.9 which I think is the same as the 3.9 disco setup converted to LPG, and the fellow put Bosch leads on it with stainless cores, he swears by them and I think they were fairly cheap. So far (1500 k's) so good.
