Anybody know where I can source a second hand set of Defender mudflaps?

I made the mistake of asking a LR dealer and got the shock of my life! The guy behind the counter didn't appreciate my joke:
"No mate, just the mudflaps, I dont need the aluminium body that attaches to it!"

I might look at sourcing some old conveyor belt but would prefer the LR ones.

Thanks.

Just try some rubber sheet available from any rubber shop, does the job beautifully and is cheap..... 2mm thick will do

How much were you quoted from LR?

I got a set of non-genuine fronts for my 130 for $60 which is not that cheap, but they have the correct angle profile and came with bolts and stainless strip to attach them. The only difference I can see is that mine don't have a Land Rover logo in the middle.

Thanks Louis, that was my next option ... I can buy 6mm sheets (1.2m x 1.0m) for $60 at Clark rubber ... looks like the way to go.

I got quoted $130 for a front set and $70 per flap for the rear. That includes no fittings, only the rubber. Spudboy, where did you buy the non-genuine ones from?

Got them from Kym at Land Ranger Spares, Pooraka (Adelaide). Ph: 08 8260 5100. No email on his card - sorry.

Try a truck spares workshop. I got a set of truck mudflaps, better quality and wider. Require some minor mods using original LR mounts. A lot more effective and cheaper. From memory under $20 each. Usually means you have their logo or name on them, but who cares. You may be able to see mine on my avatar.

What ever you do please don't put ones that say Back-off or CAT on the back. It would make it look like a Toyota!

This would make it aprox $60.00 for a SET with the freigh loaded onto it........
I'm thinking about it as well, as my left rear is torn and hanging on by a bank of Zip Ties.....:D

About a year ago I used these guys and landed a full set of Clear Plastic lights with coloured globes for the TD5 Fender, that's Parkers(front), side indicators, front and rear indicators and rear stops, 10 COMPLETE lights with coloured globes/fixtures/lenses in total for all up $98.00AUD........
