I have a ser1 disco, where are the best places or place to fit recovery hooks to the front?
Many thanks

PS. I do not have a bullbar!

Preferably to the bullbar, in line with the chassis rail(s)..

Fit to the chassis rails and use a plate like these from Troutbecksales.com (http://www.troutbecksales.com/spare.htm) or another supplier

When I had my Series 1 I had the recovery hooks (the usual type) fitted to the chassis rails in-line with the cutouts in the front spoiler. I removed the bumper and took it to a local bullbar manufacturer who removed the chassis rail closing plate/bumper mounts and welded in a stepped plate (to account for the step in inside of the chassis rail) with captive nuts to each rail. Re welded the mounts, a lick of paint and $110 later and I was very happy. Stronger than factory the new welds and a bridle fitted nicely onto the hooks;)

cheers

I read a Series 1 with a spoiler, and thought why? Then I realized you mean Series 1 Disco, not the real Series 1.
