Just a heads up for Easter and beyond next year .Was down there (Dwellingup) this weekend just gone and they have posted notices that you will have to book to camp there .So I went to speak with the rangers and it will take effect as of Easter next year .In some respects this is a good thing because it guarantees you get your favourite spot and theres no need to worry about having to find somewhere else less appealing. This has resulted from many people turning around (GOING HOME)or travelling further afield to enjoy a weekend away in the bush. This is the second time out of many i have been to Dwellingup and seen the signs saying Camp Grounds Full .Yet when we travel to our favourite spot we travel through most of the grounds to get there and see quite a few places left, and our reliable spot is always there .Maybe the facilities (Toilets and Bins) dont cater for more than so many Just thought i would let you all know.

Good way to destroy camping in Australia. Reserving public camping grounds, I have never heard anything so stupid. There will be a mad rush to reserve sites that may never get used but are booked just in case.

I drove down the back road from Meeka to Sandstone to day, its a great track, greener than the coast and you dont hafto book or pay to camp anywhere !!!
Only the local wildlife, cows and some drillers working in the hills, no trouble in finding a spot to your self in any of the 100 yearold campsites.

Calm Dwellingup 08 9538 1078 .

It is a favourite spot of mine. Who would have thought that in a country as big as the whole of Europe, people have to book for the priveledge of listening to the couple in the tent next door.

Dwellingup is a favourite spot of mine, but I had been thinking about giving it away recently as its over run with city slickers who think they are in the real outback.

Time to go further afield, guys the Avon Valley is pretty good, you have to be a little discreet as its mostly private land but there are some great spots.

Lots of spots on or near the river. Not actual camping grounds but you can tuck yourself away easy enough.
