This made me laugh (in a revolted king of way). Hope it's not too inappropriate - shift to mud pit if it is......

Unbelieveable. That sort of thing would never happen in a western country.

Now thats an eye opener. Nearly as good as the video of the beached whale in the states in the late 50's when they decided to blow up the whale to get it into moveable sized pieces. Only problem was they put way to much explosive in and had a rather large crowd gathered to watch some distance away. It rained whale meat over everyone. Funny to watch though.

Thats right. They'd do it out on the boat.
Seriously though, its a sad sight to see this, not so much the guts but the stupid slaughter of such a beautiful friendly and monstrous animal.

That sort of thing should be banned. Hunting whales is just not necessary these days. But as one Japanese man said to me
"God put all the animals on the earth for us to use, so when we use up one species we just move to another. That is what we are supposed to do"   He said that is what most of them belive. You could have knocked me over with a feather at that statement.
NOTE:
This was taken from a conversation I had with a Japanese man some time ago. Weather it reflects the reality or not I do not know

I've looked at this for a couple of days now, this may be a purely innocent photo, don't whalers cut up and clean the guts from whales that are harpooned.
On this whale, the guts have exploded out from the back of the whale not the bottom stomach area,so it hasn;t been gutted at all
maybe we are looking at this the wrong way, perhaps it was washed up dead, and the semi was moving it somewhere to be buried. Its been dead for a while and bloated full of gas looking for an escape route. Normally fresh gut wouldn't give the look of horror to the bloke in the photo.
What do you think?

I dunno, Ive made many trips down to the old whaling station at albany and ive seen green tourists walking out of there and that place must have been closed for 30 years now.

Im with John
The first thing you do to fish is gut them to stop them going off.
Likely that its a beached whale.
The blood still seems very fresh though!!!

"More than 100 Tainan city residents, mostly men, have reportedly gone to see the corpse to 'experience' the size of its penis," the newspaper reported.

Now that confirms it,
while I know there are women and children on the forum, I thought it reasonable and prudent not to mentioned the dead whale had an 18 ft penis,
that there is always one in the group, with better eyes than the rest of us.
