I was doing some research on the new Defender at landyonline (see link below)

http://www.landyonline.co.za/specs/defender2007.htm

Specifically at the new engine & gearbox...

I followed a link to further info from that site (see below) and noted the the engines in some FORD applications come with Hydromounts.

I Googled hydromounts and found out that they are mounted differently to regular mounts in some applications, but I also found these mounts which seem to be "replacements" for regular engine mounts. (see link & illustration below).

That's about the extent of my research so far, but I thought they may be worth investigating as a NVH improvement for Defenders.

Any ideas or comments from the better informed?

Looks pretty similar to a TD5 engine mount...

Here's a cut out diagram from their US website.
Are the TD5 mounts solid rubber, or fluid filled?

I use to own a mid eighties Peugeot 505 Turbo Diesel and I think from memory it had fluid filled engine mounts...very expensive!

Cheers

Was just about to mention the $$. The Army uses mini ones of those for mounting computer equipment to slides etc installed in vehicles.
