WA off road race

I just saw this webpage:

I didn't even know this kind of event existed in WA.
Has anyone been to one?
Can you get a good view and close up?

What I am wondering really is would it be worth the two hour drive from perth?

That is a top venue to watch off-road racing,Ive been there a few times.
There are a few Landies that race,including a 110 ute with a sprintcar motor,its quick!!!!There is a classic Rangie that races in the stock class.
You can drive around to various parts of the track and walk thru the pits.
If you wish there is camping also.
have a look on the net,Western Desert Racers and The Nissan car club also run races.The Harvey short course is a good venue,they race them 2 at a time around a short course.Other races are held at Hyden and Dumbelyung.
Well worth going to watch,you will end up wanting to build a racer:D :D :D :D :D

Sounds good, I would love to make a weekend of it, i imagine there are camping facilities.

this isnt V8 supercars,,,

if its anything like the eastern states,,,

unless they start and finish at an established location(local speedway, etc) toilets will be portable and busy, food will be the local lions or similar, it will be dusty and viewing limited to a very small section of the track at any one location,,,

having said all that,,,
its the best form of motorsport in Australia.

The Brookton track is good for spectators,better than a lot of the others.They have a bar,food caravan(yes run by the Lions or similar) portable dunnies,a huge bonfire sat nite.
In general the off-road crowd are fairley open/friendly,and will chat about their toys,providing its not a pitstop and they are busy!!!!
Well worth the trip,especially as there are a few very competetive Landies that race.

Mate of mine over there races a RRC with a smallblock crate 350 and soon to be TH400. (Has a santana ATM.) He will probably be at Brookton. It is a orange cut up 4 door, and is not street regoed. Peter Snook is his name, say hi to him from me if he's racing.
There needs to be more Off road racing in this country, especially down here where we are slowly rekindling it, at the moment buggies are the only popular class, I would like to see class 7 and 8 ASAP....That 1UZFE rangie sounds good already.

Hyden was great. Some of the best cars in the country were there

1st in the state and 2nd in class for class 8 ( Extreme 4wd) Im stoked..

Next event is Brookton. Will porbably only be one proto type freelander there ( Well worth seeing) My defender wont be used in anger again until the Aust Safari and then the Gascoyne Dash in October
