I keep copies of the dvd files that are created while using dvd shrink for backups on my hdd and occasionally play them on my pc, is there a better file type to keep them in that i can play easily ? I have been just clicking on 1 of the video ts files but this method only plays the selected chapter and wont play the whole movie continiously.

LoanRanger,
just burn them to your hdd rather than saving them as the dvd shrink files should reduce the amount of files you save, as well try saving as one file by changing the ripping size . also just backup the english files only.

Your DVD drive should have come with DVD player software (My pioneer burner came with Power DVD 5). Some versions of Nero have DVD playing capability, and there are heaps of freeware versions on the web.

I have power dvd but it will only play the one chapter i click not the whole movie, if i keep them as an image file i cant play them or i will have to mount them every time i want to play one of them. I already remove all the uneeded files and keep just the menu and the movie.

Keep those so called uneeded files - and keep the file structure. That's why power dvd plays only 1 chapter.
