Early start

An early start to the day today! I was woken by the dogs wanting out at 0500. It soon became apparent that they did not want to just chase a roo off the "lawn" or to attend to a call of nature. Investigating the commotion (rather sleepily) I found they had an echidna bailed up on the verandah under the ride on mower. I had to forcibly remove them back inside, where they were rather restless - so I got up. When I went outside an hour later the echidna had disappeared. Both dogs have sore noses - I don't think the echidna suffered any injuries at all. Hopefully the echidna has demolished one or two of my nuisance ant nests.

I think that pic was US and porcupine quills from memory. A lot of yanks like porcupine hunting apparently. Strange people.
