G'day guys,

Had a fuel leak today, just about to go up Blue Rag Range (Vic). Lost about 50 litres of fuel.
Cause was the fuel filter drain plug had broken and we had been happily drving along. Didn't notice my fuel guage drop. It was not until I stopped that we discovered this. Managed to plug it with a screw into the remaining thread of the plug and got back to Bright. Anyone had this happen before. Anyone use anthing else for a drain plug. These plugs are plastic and vulnerable to a heavy hand.

Any ideas please

I carry a short metal bolt & washer in case my water sensor gets broken off on my D2.

I always was suss on it and put a large piece of hose over the fuel filter held on with a hose clamp. it hangs down past the filter and protects it from stones etc.

Cheers

Good idea Piddler!!!!!!!
I have looked at mine many times in disgust at the lack of protection.
I will put it on my to do list.
