Hitches for Army trailer

The link shows a hitch by Vehicle Components - a conical ball coupling. This goes into a slightly modified standard towball mount (needs another small hole drilled to prevent rotation of the mount) and attaches to a standard pintle ring.

It seems a sensible way to tow an army trailer.

Has anyone experience with it?

Costs about $470 components only.

This was for information - I have two tow vehicles, one pintle hook.

I was intrigued by the hitch above - uses standard pintle ring but no backlash or noise.

What do I care about backlash or noise? My main tow vehicle will be an ex-army landie so there's plenty of both already. ;) :D

I was more thinking for those with existing hitches and shiny new vehicles.

To stop the backlash and noise with the pintle hook, I put a doubled up plumbers rubber O ring on top of the trailer ring before closing the jaw of the hook.
No free space = no noise!:)

The pintle coupling is not as popular as it once was. It does have limited movement from side to side

wtf if you manage to run out of sideways movent on one of these youve essentially put the draw bar though the ass of the vehicle from jacknifing...
