The question is can they legally be fitted to a road car in NSW
Ken

I dont think they are SRS compatible so might void the insurance claim in event of a crash:eek:

Thats just it if they were SRS compatible there would be a few D2 owners lined up for them.

As good as they may look, there no good if they are not airbag compliant, as they would be illegal as well as voiding warrenties.
The whole idea of the crush can is to stop unnecessary deployment of the airbag.

the manafacturers website says that they have winch bars for D1 and D2 vehicles, but doesn't say if they are airbag compatible.

hey ken mate if your in WA igot my scorpion (equipe) bar from a mob over there for my defender, bugger i can't remember their name....but they were the only people in aus i knew of then year or so ago) that imported them, what are the names of the big rover acc's places over there?
they have a 90 (green one) i think that they put through the odd comp.
this the bar your talking about?
if so this is the winch version, awesome after pulling off the arb bar, don't have a grader in front of the 90 anymore, approach angle is fantastic, and so far it has been very strong - after a few nudges here and there
make sure you get the optional swivel recovery shackles when you order, all up freighted to bris cost me about $1100 or so, cause then i couldn't find anyone to make one for me.
i'll chase up there name - could be rover craft?

You will be surprised how well they go stock.
The plastic front bumper is a pain, way to low.And once you get adventurous you will loose the rear plastic bumper!!!!!
