This has me stuffed, i cant for the life of me figure out why virtually any word i have on my website (http://www.matts-domain.com/) (and there aint many) gets so high in Google.
For example AULRO (http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-GB%3Aofficial&hs=0ft&q=aulro&btnG=Search&meta=) Im the 4th link
Engelbrecht cave (http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=engelbrecht+cave,+images&spell=1) 3rd link
I know this because i can see referrer info, eg: where people came from entering my website (the 2 above are from today)
If i could just figure it out why? im sure i could make lots of money :)

Probably because it's an uncommon word, and not many websites use it, if only I could get REMLR to come up that well under army land rover!!

Yeah its not that, even common stuff
eg "pics of dockland" (http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=pics+of+dockland&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryAU) 4th link (weaselsnout)
And you have to remember its not a heavily visited site, maybe 50 clicks a day 49 coming from here :)
btw: ive put "army land rover" up in the links section .... we will give it a couple of weeks and see

In your example as others have already mentioned it's the uniqueness of the keyword being searched.
The AULRO site is a good example,
Google search "land rover forums", "army land rover forums" selecting, pages from Australia and AULRO.com site comes up #1, search worldwide and it's ranking is somewhat down.
Interesting enough though, Google search "REMLR land rover forums" and AULRO.com is #1 regardless of how you search.
Having your website with a focus on common searched keywords can be a very effective method of getting traffic.
