G'day....
I have a 200TDI powered 110....the fuel line, under the chief Pilot seat, has begun to 'Pulse' it actually ticks away against the chassis at idle, quite loudly....any ideas what may be causing this...No performance issues, just would like to know what it means....
Airfilter clean, fuel filter clean, Head has recently had valves reseated and guides replaced.......HG is correct thickness.....Timing Belt has been changed....Injectors have been serviced....NO I did not do all the above searching for the noise, it just seesm to have appeared all on its own...
Cheers in advance

Is there a performance difference, or does it just tick?
Cheers

I would be checking a clip or something hasnt broke allowing it to touch.Either way it wont take long for the pipe to chaffe thru and leak fuel

it can be caused by the lift pump if its the pick up line or the injectors/injector pump if its the return line.
If its the supply line you have a dying one way valve in the pump and the line is jumping with the pulses from the pump unloading the fuel back into the tank from the supply line.
If its the return line then your getting the pulsations from the injector spill or pump spill line which if your lucky is simply a slight blockage in the return line if your not,,, well hope its just an injector with an overly agressive crack pressure setting thats spitting excess fuel into the spill line...

I had exactly this sympton on my 200tdi 110 when I first bought it. When I was about to change the timing belt I discovered that the injector timing was slightly out. New belt on and correctly adjusted cured the noise.

Thanks for your reply, good, commonsense ideas. It seems to be return line, although Lift pump is original and well over 11 years old, so probably could do with a service! I will check out the return lines, Have recently swapped lines with old unused 200TDi motor, so could have been blocked...have found a loose clamp on line, but made no difference.
