As Phil advised go to a professional to make it, Hardy Spicer are very good since they work on every thing up to massive mining vehicles so they really know their stuff

I have one in the front of my rangie and it was made by metropolitan drive shafts here in sydney. Let me know if you want some pics of it. I have seen some that were home made and i didn't like the look of them. Also ive been told that a lot of places wont balance stuff they haven't made as it can come back on them if it fails.

Hi Nigel
Veem Engineering(drag specialists) and HardySpicer(heavy vehicles) in Perth.
Either one should be able to build or balance one for you.

Ive made one but it wasnt for automotive use, it drives a slow speed sludge pump on a farm..
take 2 toyota drive shafts, cut both put the extention in and make it look as good as possable. but it doesnt turn at more than 100rpm... doesnt take much load either at full load you can turn it by hand against the pump just by grabbing the cardan.
