Gday i use bluetooth to go from my nokia n70 to my puter via a bluetooth dongel pluged into a usb port the dongel has the software built in to it so its plug n play i just have to do the pics one at a time this will only work if your fone is bluetooth compatable ...

You can get the dongels off fleabay at a good price to im told i payed 40 bucks for mine about 12 months ago from jaycar ....

Excuse my lack of understanding, still trying to keep up with the techno world, what the he ll is a dongel,
and what does a blue tooth do to a phone, is that the same as the black teeth you get from chewing on a Choo Choo bar ( but nobody remembers them)

blue tooth is a type of wireless connection,,
phone to car
pc to pc
nearly anything to anything these days

the dongle is the pc side of the wireless connection and sticks out the back of the pc from a usb port

If you haven't got blue tooth on your PC, then just buy the Motorola (or cheaper aftermarket type) usb data cable. aout $25.00

You should be able to download the software (motorola phone tools) from the motorola site - but in effect you don't really need it, but it's handy, if you can't download it, let me know and I'll send you a copy.

The cable plugs into your usb port on the pc and in the little port where you normally plug the charger into.

If you don't use the software, the pc will just recognise your phone as a temporary drive, and you can just copy/move the pics to a folder on your pc.

Thanks Ladas, I knew it would be simple. Off to the cable shop. Thanks for the software offer, I should be able to get it easily enough but I'll keep it in mind if I have any trouble.

Thanks again, and be prepared for some pics soon.....

Hey Mickrangie, I might even be able get yours to you before xmas now!!!!

I used to love em, a mate up the road got a job in the factory cleaning out the vats as the factory was up in Hawthorn Rd Caulfield. They never tasted quite the same after he told me that...
They also made ****** boy licorice - funny how the name kinda died off:angel:

It ain't that simple - I bought a Samsung phone last week and bought a usb cable ($25) for it at a cable shop - the software which is phone specific didn't work and the computer doesn't recognise that the phone is connected to it. Went do the samsung website and downloaded the phone specific software - again didn't work. I gave up and bought a bluetooth dongle off e-bay for $1.99 plus $5 postage - arrived in two days and works great.

So if the phone is bluetooth capable go blue tooth it is easier and cheaper. I tried the usb cable on other computers - all recognised the cable but none recognised the phone.

the quickest way is to send a mms (with the picture in it) to a email address.

trust me it works.

Garry, fortunately the motorola software/cable etc., have made it very easy. Motorola have put, in my view, a great deal of effort, into making it as easy as...........

With mine I can plug into the laptop, main pc, my wifes pc, my sons pc, or in fact the office pc's on the odd occasion I go there, never had a problem.

I think the issue you have is Samsung, rather than general.

:) Hi Justinc

I have a 3G Samsung and it came with a USB Cable and all Software ,I had to install all the proprietary Sofware first provided by Samsung before I could download any pics to my laptop etc , but the Laptop would not detect the Mobile phone when plugged in via USB ,it ended up being that I had to disable Bluetooth on Mobile ( easy Fix ) I'm suspecting that yours is the same deal , if you're running XP it should automatically detect the USB device and allow you to dowload all your Pics using the software you recieved from Motorolla,

Hi Justine;

do you have a Usb cable/connection?

if yes download the propietry software first Provided by Motorolla on your pc/Laptop , this will allow you Mobile to talk to Laptop/PC using the Drivers provided by Motorolla ,

Then the software will allow you to upload/dowload any file . pics / music / tones etc.
