I guess the best torrent is the one u find the easiest to use, there are quite a lot of apps out there Ray and most ppl have their favorite, I would suggest trying a few then pick which one serves u best, I am currently using Azerus

I use Azureus but just use Google to search for the files and follow links from there.

Utorrent. It's just what I got first....dunno if it's better or worse than others. Works well for me.:)

I use Azureus here, but it is a bit of a memory hog when you have a few dl's going.

Azureus for me to, never had any problems with it except having to assign a port to by pass my modem firewall as it was blocking it.
Also I find that bittorents seem to be more 'genuine' in what you get, where as using proggies like Kazaa etc, you often get completely different downloads to what you originally wanted.
Also less viruses

Why?

If you're worried about people seeing what you're downloading, that's done by the torrent site/tracker and not the client. Plus, anyone seeding the file you're downloading can see you anyway.

I second that - uTorrent for DLs and mininova for searching.

Make sure you map your incoming torrent download port (instructions are in the help menus of most clients). And ensure any firewall you're running has an exception for the torrent DL client too.

I agree with the above

EZTV (http://www.eztvefnet.org/) for TV series

Isohunt (http://www.isohunt.com/)for stuff you cant find

A "friend" said uTorrent is best.

Azureus if memory serves is a java app which is a bit of a resource hog.

What formay did they come in ? most downloads are Divx or Avi files or disk image, if they are disk images you just click on them and they should open your default burning program. Nero is by far the most popular and most reliable i have used.

1 of the movies is AVI

and the other 3 are Divx

so nero is the way to go

Nero will be fine - just burn as a data DVD, but remember, your DVD player must be able to play DIVX's/AVI's from a disc, as this isn't DVD format, so won't play on a "normal" DVD-only player.

Depends on whether your DVD player can play AVI's and XVid/Divx's though. A standard DVD disc uses differently encoded (MPEG2 in VOD/IFO files) files, which is defined in the standard so all players play them...later ones aimed more at home multimedia often can play "computer" media files too. If it doesn't say on the front of the player a quick Google on the make and model number should tell you. Otherwise, you need to re-encode the files (Messy, slow and will further lose quality) or just d/l DVD images (.ISO's) in the frst place and burn them in Nero using the Recorder/Burn Image menu option instead.

if you can got your computer within cable length of you tv you could get a tv-out card, (or dual-out, same thing more or less) then just play them from your computer onto your tv screen with the aid of a couple of cables.

Or buy a dvd player that reads AVI files there are a few about and dont cost that much more than standard, then there is no converting at all.

Failing that look for software the converts AVI to VOB files. Vob is the DVD file standard. DVD Santa is one such program but I can't vouch if it's any good. There are bound to be lots of others. Once in VOB format they can be burned straight to CD/DVD.

I did this last week when the copy of 300 i got failed while converting to dvd file so i just put the case next to the tv plugged into my av amp and used my wireless kb and mouse on the coffe table.
I have since moved my pc to within 2.5 m of the tv so i will be waching a lot more movies this way.

Ok here is my choice again and has never failed me yet, must be the best all rounder

http://www.meganova.org/torrent/182c841fa5efdfef254e15658a28aeab0a312275/cyberlink+dvd+suite+5+pro+%5Bespanish+en+ge+fr+it+ jp+ch%5D.torrent

if you use Cyberlink you can actual creat a DVD from MPEG,AVI,DIVX and many more, the program does it all for you, the only thing i check off in the prefs is to "smart fit" this will make nearly all files fit on 1 dvd

Nero can convert AVI/MPEG etc to DVD.
But it is slow to convert (nearly 1 to 1).

Another prog I have tried is WinAvi Video Converter.
It's much faster.
