Ok I'm a member now and was wondering when the next GCLRO Driver Awareness Program is being run or how do I go about getting certified to drive on your trips? :)

Yep, will be posting full details soon and will also contacting members yet to complete the DAP directly via e-mail with all the relevant information. Justin and I are just working a few dates and details before confirming everything.
We are obviously trying to get this organised ASAP to allow as many people as possible to go on some of the forthcoming trips however as you can imagine, dates and organisation takes a bit of time and effort but we are certainly on to it.

Aye, Mick

DVAP Driver & Vehicle Awareness Program run by GCLRO for all new members and those who want to participate. Cost is free for all new members and we charge a small fee for non members and a discounted fee for AULRO members.
This is a basic awareness program which our club runs in essentially introduces all new members to some basic theory around 4x4 skills, basic overview of how various 4x4 drive systems operate, vehicle set up, club specific radio and recovery protocol, basic club trip rules and gradings and some pratical driving techniques etc etc.

This course is a pre requisite for full membership to our club for all new members but we welcome non members to take advantage of this program. I will stress though, this is a basic 4x4 course run by our committee members, and is not offered as a recognised training program. It has been designed specifically for joining members of the GCLRO.

Happy to answer any other questions you have about this course or our club though.

Aye, Mick

P.S. Check out the GCLRO section at the bottom of AULRO for more general info on trips training etc.
