I always thought my 215/70/R16's were 29x9.5. Turns out they're 28x8.5. Makes my jump to 31x10.5 a bigger step than i thought...

OK guys, it's just maths!
Let's start with a 31 x 10.5 x 15
Width is 10.5 x 25.4 = 266.7
Aspect Ratio is (31-15)/2/10.5*100=76.2
Wheel dia=15
Therefore a 31x10.5x15 is approx 265/75/15
Now going the other way
225/75/16 is:
Height is 225/75/2/1000*2.54+16=29.3
Width is 225/25.4=8.86
Wheel dia =16
Therefore a 225/75/16 is approx 29x8.9x16
