Well, what a good couple of days. LCMP is a lot dryer then it was when we were last there (which was 3yrs ago mind you). Ended up being only Eve, Chloe and I head up on Friday, left at around lunch time and had a leisurely drive up, checked in and set up camp. We added a honouree member to the club just before we went to bed when a possum visited our camp, was surprising how game this thing was, came straight up to Eve and started sniffing her ugg boots  Gave it some dinner, had a little pat and then Chloe kicked the soccer ball at it so that was the end of that friendship :D. Early to bed and up early on Saturday.
First one in the park on Saturday was Tomo (soon to be GCLRO member ;) ) followed by Fat50 (Jeff and Vicki). We were expecting the GC boys and Hobie to be at the park by about 9 so at about 9.30 we headed for a quick drive hoping to find the boys on the way to the office. First cab off the rank was Telecom Hill, a nice little hill climb and descent down the other side, finding it a nice little drive we turned around and did it in reverse (Jeff attempting the first climb literally in reverse :p ). We then headed across to Camp road which has a nice little hill climb at the end. A few wheel stands by the D1, a broken rear axle by the Tomo in the Rangie and some nice clean driving by Jeff in the D2 saw us all reach the top. Nice way to start the day :D. Within about 10min Tomo had the axle out and replaced and we were told by a passing water truck that the park had received a phone call and the rest of the group was running late due to a break down. A little more playing on the way to the office and we heard Bolts over the radio. Off to the office to meet up with Bolts, Wazza and IceFyre we were updated on the thrown belts on Wazza's Defender. I will leave it up to one of the boys to update you on Bolt's mechanical skills but from what i heard 45min into the side of road repairs RACQ was called and the car was towed. Wazza jumped in with Bolts and said goodbye to his new tyres for the weekend :( . Bolts jumped in as TEC and we headed for a nice drive through the rain forest, with Bolts mumbing things like "should i take it out of high range yet" wasn't long before we heard that he had . Along Prado Pde and down Timberjack Hill we entered Cruiser Canyon for a nice creek run. As was the case all weekend some nice driving by all saw an easy pass through. Out into camp area 1 Tomo decided to continue along the creek while the rest of us went around to meet him at the end. Waiting Waiting we hear not sure if i should go through this mud so we all went for a walk to find Tomo sitting on the other side of a 5m long mud hole. Keen for some excitement we decided he should  Through with plenty of spraying mud and the tunes of a high revving V8 (now running on 7 :( ) Tomo was greeted with about 15m of thick sticky axle deep mud. Common sense prevailed and he turned around only to have to go back through the mud he had just some through :D. Back to camp for some lunch, tea (and more running repairs for Tomo, lucky he is a mechanic) we all freshened up for the afternoon run.
Straight out of camp into the action we headed up and around Club Rally Circuit. IceFyre was not deterred by the Christmas tree of light appearing on his dash and said bugger you Lucas i can do this without Traction Control, Centre diff, ABS and hill decent control. All was good until Lucas decided to brake on his behalf half way down a hill  but alls well that ends well, some good driving Anthony  . Bolts contemplated some mud runs in the Pig Pen but decided he would have a go at a stump instead, not sure if he was trying to test his flex or have another go testing the strength and approach angle of his front bar but he drove straight into it :( Nothing like character marks hey bolts :p. Two more creek runs, Claw Gorge and Test Track rounded out the day with Tomo and IceFyre heading back to camp and Bolts (& Wazza) and Fat50 got ready to head home. I decided Bolts needed some action after his early comments so back up camp road and we tackled the hill climb again. A few wheel stands and some adrenalin and Bolts was no ready to go home ;). We all settled in, had some dinner and watch the possums fight.
Up and ready by 9 on day 3 we had a quick look over IceFyres car and found a disconnected ABS line (too much flex hey Anthony ;) ). Now with all the gadgets back he was ready to test the new muddies in style. Quick morning trip around the park saw us do Jims Jump-Up, Top Test Track, Top and Lower Davidsons Road and Toyota Trail. Some good driving by all saw another uneventful morning which even included a Quick stop along the way for all to do a flex test. With IceFyre and I running low on fuel and a nice grinding noise in First coming from the D1 from a stick incident on a hill that morning we decided to head back for lunch and to pack up camp. Left by about 3 and headed for home. I think my "stick incident" also put a hole in my exhaust as we had a very fummy ride home  but alls well that ends well.
As always a bloody long report by me, with Photo's off course, and some video to come. Hope all that attended enjoyed the weekend and look forward to the next trip ;) More photos available http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a173/planoux/LCMP%20May%2007/
