Hi all,

I have done a search and could not find exactly my symptoms.

When tight left hand cornering under brakes the pedal I think pulses like the ABS going off. Now do you think it's just the left hand sensor and if so what are these things worth again.

Sorry It's a D2.

if your sensor/s are faulty you will get the warning lights showing up on the dash, how hard are you cornering under brakes because the inside wheels on cornering will not take as much to lock up, check for any play in the wheel bearings and check your pads as well

I have 97 disco with ABS and have had the abs pump work at wierd times.
I traced the problem to a sensor that had been bumped slightly when I changed a wheel bearing seal. The sensors are only 'push fit' in place. A strong tug on the wire can move them. So i gently tapped each one to see if it was seated properly (use the smooth end of a socket extension and tap this gently with a hammer). My left rear sensor moved about 1mm. This fixed the problem. The tolerance of the sensor is very small. I have heard that it can sometimes indicate a wheel bearing problem.

Hi Stevo, It's more like a tight turn at low speeds under brakes like into a driveway or round a round-about. I already have the lights lit up on the dash due to brake squeal from a couple of weeks ago just not had time to get it looked at surpose I am just wondering if it sounds like the sensor what sort of cost I will be up for.

not sure on the cost around $300 but check the other things out first a loose wheel bearing can give a false reading

If its pad knockoff you're feeling, couldn't this just be worn / out-of-round discs? What mileage is on the car?

Hi Max,

138,000 on the car, pads at 40,000, discs where done at 80,000 with pads. Pads where done again at 120,000 and discs where OK.

I seem to get 40,000 out of each set of pads and 80,000 out of a set of discs.
