View Full Version : Victimization for a Diff Guard & Apparent Advertising, LAST POST!
Loaded
7th June 2007, 10:46 PM
As some would be aware of a few threads where I have been harassed / made a scapegoat for so called advertising in threads (New Diff Guard) in General Chat.
It’s a shame that there is so much double standards on this forum and only certain people are Victimized.
Its also a joke that it was not even an add and as soon as you log off the Administrator / watch dog moves the thread to Market place in a deaviase manner.
Moved threads have a moved icon in general this was just moved with a negative post following from the Administrator in its new location in Market Place threads.
(Incriminating that am I making the diff Guard and am I selling it) He knew exactly who made it and surprisingly was the first person to name the maker in the thread when I moved it back to General chat, He was Advertising ?
Below is the correspondence of this hideous crime.
*Fist the penalties.
Certain behaviors attract more points than others as listed below
1. Inappropriate Language results in 1 demerit point
2. Excessive Unruly Behavior results in 2 demerit points
3. Inappropriate Commercial Post(s) results in 2 demerit points
4. Personal Attack(s) on Other Member(s) results in 3 demerit points
5. Sexual Harassment or serious attack(s) results in 5 demerit points
* Should you reach 5 demerit points in any 12 month period you will be banned for 7 days
* Should you reach 10 demerit points in any 12 month period you will be banned for 1 month
* Should you reach 20 demerit points in any 12 month period you will be permanently banned
*The First Apparent Offence Advertising On Threads. (Poor advertisement no location, no price, no mention of who or where it is made)
By the way this post was on the forum in Market place for around 30 min till I moved the first post info back to General chat then Watch Dog / Admin deleted this post and thread.
#Reason: Inapproriate Commercial Post
-------
2 demerit points have been awarded for unnecessary commercial posting in a thread.
This infraction is worth 2 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire
---Quote---
The person that makes them is very busy at the moment so I doubt they will be available to the public till the end of the year, they are for club members for now.
But if you where to join the GCLRO Club you might be able to get a hold of one sooner.
I just wanted to post to show a different Diff Guard that I have purchased.
---End Quote---
Buy the way this was posted after the original post and after Administrators moved the thread from General chat to Market place.
*The Second Apparent Offence Advertising On Threads. (Dose the below post look or sound like unruly behavior pointing out there mistake).
2 demerit points have been awarded for Excessive Unruly Behaviour in a few separate threads on AULRO
#This infraction is worth 2 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

I didn't see a price mentioned, I didn't say where or who had made it. So how is it any sort of advertising for anyone. The only one who did the advertising and mentioning names was *your Administrator.*
Are you saying you can not buy a cool or new item for you 4x4 and and let other people see what you have stuck on your Land Rover on a Land Rover site.
Strange (Bollocks).
---End Quote---
Isn’t it ironic that here you can commit what would be a criminal offence 4 times EG: 5 demerit points for Sexual Harassment 4 offences = 20 points till your banned.
If in a work place one offence by E-mail and you would be dismissed and a possible criminal offence recorded. Has to make you wonder?

You may or my not have some points but as far as I am concerned I have no problems with the running of this site or its rules. If your post was moved - what is the problem - it happens all the time and no one seems to get upset.
I don't think that if there is some inconsistency in the applicatiion of the rules - and I am not sure there is - it is most likely oversight - we are all human - not a major conspiracy.
Also I don't think that airing your disagreement is all that helpful - though I respect your right to do so.
For me - this is about the best site around in how it is run - it is relaxed and generally few issues.
The adminos have my support and I am sorry that you feel the way you do but I feel it is more your own issue rather than anything about how the site is run.

Yup, just pm the admins and chat to them about it. Burring solves nothing.

there is a "reviews" area so people can praise products if they wish to, so i expect and welcome people doing it in that area.
and a recommended suppliers area for people to sing suppliers praises as well.
AULRO provides an area for advertising that costs nothing and i dont think it is too much to ask that people use that area to do their advertising and leave the advertorials out of general chat and the technical forums.
I try to be fair and balanced but it doesnt always work how i hope it will.
if you had put what you originally posted in the right area, and not gone off half cocked when it was moved to somewhere more appropriate, then this would not have occurred, it is as simple as that.
me personally, i love to read about new products and services etc and i am trying to encourage more of it but AULRO admins have a right to ask/enforce they be placed in the right section of the site, surely.

Had no intention of adding to this but as it keeps growing .
Fair is fair but if you read what was in the 2 subject threads on thursday night you may see things differently .
What has been deleted makes the story look very different now .
I don`t know any of those involved but if part was deleted it all should have been .
The way it was thursday night there was more than the one party in the wrong and that`s not the way it appers now .

Reckon all the fun would go out of the forum in about fifteen minutes.

Let's see...
So instead of saying Landrover - we have to say "British 4x4 manufacturer, previously owned by a german company, now owned by an american company, about to be sold yet again"
And what about the models:
Defender - "Agricultural model" or "real model"
Rangie - "Posh model"
Disco - "wannabe posh model"
Freeloader - "Always broken model?"

Ya think it's strict here; this is nothing. My wife frequents a baby forum that is so strict you can't mention any product by name. If you want to say vegemite toast you have to say malt extract spread.
How 'bout we try to live by their rules for a couple of days?
Reckon all the fun would go out of the forum in about fifteen minutes.
Cheers
Simon
