im guessing he was lucky it was wet...

thats what you get for assuming people will stop without warning at crossings.. i'd blame the cyclist personally from what i could see... trying to race the bus...

my worst fear on a bike.. been close several times.. mainly at night.. hence why i have just short of 20w halogen beams on the front of it now

Thanks

Steve

In my mind typical cyclist that does not drive. Its wet and he rides stright onto a crossing with out taking into account that the cars won't be able to stop quickly. After all he should not be riding across there anway. It is for pedestrians
Had this happen to me a few time when a **** rids off the pavment onto a crossiong at speed and demands that you stop. When you saw him seconds ago comeing up to the crossing and then the next second he is in front of you

Anyoine who isnt caustious at crossing or think they have absolute right of way is IMHO a candidate for a Darwin award.

In this case its just good to see no one was hurt.

I wouldn't like to be in an accident in China... Not one person ran to the cyclist aid once he was hit.

Although it didn't look like there was any panel damage.

Good thing it was not one of the new lower rider type buses that get around these days. Lucky for the cyclist.
Not only the person in the white car but the bus driver as well will need a new seat.
My dad did a 180 degree turn on a highway once while driving a 52 passenger schoolbus while on his way to school to pick the kids up. He said that was scary enough.

not just in china,,,
was third car stopped at a set of lights just yesterday,,
a commodore + a prado had a set too ,,
the two cars in front had to literally drive around the commodore to get across the intersection,,
as I drove up the driver in the commodore hadnt moved and didnt look too flash so I jumped out and opened the door to find an old lady pretty well concussed,, I had to yell at the gawkers to ring 000 and a after a bit of TLC for the lady some guy came up telling us to move the cars off the road,,
no interest in anybodies health, just clear the decks,,
the prado owner never surfaced,,

not happy jan.

get a lot of that, i stopped at an accident (pretty serious one too) and nearly got run over while walking from one of the involved cars to the other. only about 30 sec after impact too.... about a half dozen cars just drove BETWEEN the smashed cars!!.. next time ill park the truck across the intersection rather than before it

I think there's another lesson in this - as a cyclist, I've noticed many car drivers behave as if a cycle is a pedestrian. The bus swerved left, when continuing on directly ahead it would have missed the cyclist. The driver swerved in the same direction the cyclist was travelling, because intuitively car drivers think bicycles are almost stationary.
