Hi guys,

Came across this little tool for directly saving videos from Youtube in Avi or Mpeg formats. Figured that some of you may find this handy for filling your harddrives ....:p:p

http://www.youtube-d.com/

Really user friendly for the less tech savvy among us...

Hope it helps someone...

Sorry Outlaw...:(:(

A guy with your background should be able to do it the techie way...:twisted::twisted:

There are a few Firefox plugins that claim to work.... never tried them on a MAC.... but always have very limited success on PC too...

Martyn,

I'll assume you've installed it and been able to open the application....

You should simply be able tell it where to save (In the save to box - just browse to where you want files saved)

Then simply copy the URL from the YouTube window into the link box and click Start...

Works perfectly for me...:huh::huh:

What operating system you using?. Also what sort of system spec has your machine got......mine is reasonably highend it does use over 50% processor for a short while....could be the cause of your issues..

Application installed OK, seems to work OK progress bar across bottom etc just theres nothing in the folder it's pointed at.

Running XP fully patched 500mb ram on a 1.4ghz processor. Everything else seems to go fine.

Looks like its back to the firefox plugin and VideoLan
