I am proud owner of 2002 Disco TD5. Owned it only 9 months, fantastic, no problems, until now........
Just had 80k service, and 2 days later, the ABS, Traction & HD lights all on concurrently. I am affraid to take it to LR. I have tried a few tips off this site, but to no evail. Can anyone provide me with the contact details of a good and an honest Brisbane based mechanic (not just for this problem, but for on-going servicing etc)?
Can anyone also provide me with contact details of a Brisbane based Land Rover 4WD club.

I'm based in the western suburbs of Brisbane and for servicing we use MR Automotive at Redcliffe, yes they are out of Brisbane but have found them to be the most reliable over the years, contact number is 3284 6688
For Land Rover based clubs, the most active through this forum is the Gold Coast Land Rover Club, there is also the Land Rover Club who meet at Moorooka. Originally I was in the Brisbane Range Rover club but found the Gold Coast club does more of the trips that I enjoy.

he's at nerang on the gold coast, only does land rovers and probably services or has fixed every one of our clubs vehicles. you should ring him on monday and chat with him about it 55966662

I'll vouch for MR Automotive at Redcliffe as well. I took our Discovery there for a 120,000 service expecting big $ but they only did what was necessary and advised me on a couple of issues to watch.
It still cost me a bit of dough but I did not feel ripped off at all. A new key cost me $295 programmed but this seems on par with non-dealers.

MR out at Redcliffe maybe one of the best in Country :D An Express bus from middle of city with a stop one block from MR takes away some of the distance hassle ...when she who demands to be obeyed refuses to drop/pick you up. Give wide berth to a repairer located in Moorooka

If enough people say the same thing then it is probably true so MR-Redcliffe must be the go. :) Cockie55, are you referring to Techno British? I have been going to them and have had no real issues ( less costly than the stealers) and have heard nothing different, yet!

I have tried to get parts off them 3 times. They always say 'um um um I'll ring you back'. Once they even did! However I didn't get the parts off them as they are not open on Saturdays.
I vote Rick's. Used them for parts twice before and they were fantastic in their knowledge and customer service.

Not the best for parts for sure, I use FWD Yerongapilly, excellent. Is "Ricks" MR redcliffe? Sounds like worth a drive or courier. Whats the contact number?

As its servicing and I can grab some competancies off of it, Im happy to do the servicing part for you and you'll only be hit for fuels, filters and any parts that need replacing (brake pads and the like).
But as i dont yet have a rover com or OBDII reader I cant help with the fault codes.

Had the same happen to me over a stinking hot day in summer. Everything worked fine but lights as you described. Got home -had a good xxxx and a lie down -- next morning turned on the ignition and everything was 'normal'-went for a drive still ok and has been since-go figure.

I use both MR automotive and British Off Road at Forest Glen at the North Coast. If you speak to Harry at MR Auto, he will really get things soughted and at BOR Stuart is the owner and what he doesnt no about Landies /Rangies isnt worth knowing.
I live at Kingaroy and both are competitive on new and used parts and I have them mailed and always in 24 hours.
For Convenience MR is great, cause yoiu can go to the Redclifee for shore and enjoy a good feed and drink,
BOR do have loaner cars, if you book well in advance.
Tell Stuart Dave Kemp sent you !!

Another vote for avoiding Marooka, I now do it my self (seems like less hassle, and you know it is done properly).

Give me a shout if you have any questions.

Parts: need to say Jag Rover spares in brissie are brilliant (just bought a s/h 3.9l v8 off them today at a fantastic price and service). But British Offroad are always good too. Or any of the AULRO sponsors up in the banner adverts :D:D:D
Service: Ricks 4WD at Nerang or MR Auto.
Clubs: Gold Coast Land Rover (GCLRO) of course... we have about 15 brissy members ;)

Have you got that one piece of glass replacement per year option on your car insurance policy?

Can vouch for Kedron Rovertech at Brendale.... Easy to deal with... If memory serves me right he trained as a mechanic at LR in the UK. He does a lot of British cars not just LR.
They'll also take you 'N pick up at Strahpine train station.... NOT open on the week ends though.

Another advocate for MR here. Have been using them for a few years now, and they are a great bunch of blokes to deal with.
