Thats right, the Lexus is going to make way for the next project.

I just acquired a D1 Tdi auto as a donor vehicle to fit the 1989 Vogue body to. I also have a 1989 Vogue with no engine or trans, and it is now the new vehicle for the other half. This means I get MINE back:D:D

She wants a RRC, but it must be a diesel, and must be an auto. Simple. A body swap with the D1 and we are away. The only small issue is that the reason I ended up with the Disco in the first place is because the trans is in need of a rebuild, the forward clutch has failed in a big way.

Anyway, to avoid the usual ' soccer mum' comments, it will have the alloys and 235/85's from my Rangie, (Already has a 2" lift) and eventually a pair of true tracks and some long travel shocks and cones. A Wolf in sheeps clothing and all that...

CAn't wait to get started, at least when it's finished I can drive MY Rangie again off road instead of having fisticuffs over who gets the drivers seat first!!!!

I used to love my auto off road and in traffic, but I am used to the LT95 now, and lurve the engine braking in 1st low. I have to accelerate down hills now!!

The other half has driven the LT95 a fair bit now, and can appreciate the engine braking etc, but it is the complete lack of fuss with the ZF that she likes. And the ease of rock and sand driving is a plus.

NM, good to hear you are also 100% LR now! I have had all sorts of comments in the past about owning a Toyota When we bought the Lexus, now its :p:p:p to them all!!!!

We have been an ALL LR family since I gave up paid work seven odd years ago and stopped driving the Nissans they kept supplying to me.

I've just sold LR No.24 (a 1995 SI Tdi Disco) and bought LR No.26 (a 2001 SII Td5 Disco). Still have the 2003 Td5 Defender Xtreme (No. 25) which, at the moment, is going through extensive pre-trip preparation for the Madigan Line trip in six weeks time - by the way justinc, are you still interested in joining us for that or are the dates unsuitable? PM me if you're still interested.

Well,,,:(:(Back to squre 1.

I got a better offer, someone wants to buy the D1, as is , with another autobox fitted.
Seems it is 'just what they are looking for'
I wont loose $$$ selling it, but it would've been a great platform for the RR...
:(:(

I'll keep looking then, as this is the way to go to get a good diesel RR.
