Wheres the snow?

My kids are hassling me to take them to the snow, we'll be going to the snowfields for an overnighter some time late this season but if there's snow fall in either the Blue mountains or even better the Barringtons then a day trip could be done.

It happened when you poor buggers were underwater, so it may have been a tad difficult to get up here, but we had another light dusting last week. :D

Whereabouts? 45mins sounds practical enough for a day trip:)

NPWS have installed gates on Barrington Tops to prevent vehicle access to the snow. The reason given was that too many vehicles going to the snow, were getting into trouble, jackknifing trailers etc.

The kids and I went for a 7hr drive today, did about 450km's mostly road, a bit of dirt and gravel. Two river crossings and a tad of mud. In total we saw 66 horses, 100's of cows, 2 discos, 5 Defenders and no snow.

We had a good time though telling grotty tales of snot and dogpoo flavoured sandwiches. Came home to a surprise. Mum had got home and cooked din dins (and it was nice)

Lucky You. I fixed the sliding door so you can open it now. I also cleaned up the rear lights in the Fender.

A mate and myself went for a bushwalk today in the Barrington Tops national park, it snowed, so I have seen snow but the kids still haven't.

The kids hit me up for a day at the snow on Thursday night, after perusing my roster I decided to load the car up in the wee hours of Saturday morning (0430hrs) and went for a drive, 9hrs later (with a few toilet and a breakfast break) we arrived at Mt Selwyn at 1340hrs. There wasn't any natural snow left but to little kids snow is snow and the man made was good enough. We got some Boggins (as my son called them ) and had 4hrs of freezing cold fun. Then jumped back in the car to drive home. 2 1/2 hrs later we stopped of for a cuppa and a break at George130's place (thanks Edd greatly appreciated) we headed back North towards home, got to Campbelltown to stop for another cup of Joe and crashed for 5 minutes. 10hrs later I got woken up buy my kids to come wish they're grandad a happy fathers day. And we're still not home yet.

Cost 2 tanks of diesel $238.00, about $100 in takeaway, $22 Boggin hire, a day with no sleep, and a backyard with grass half a foot high.

The look on my kids faces as they were screaming with glee sliding down the mountain was worth every penny.

Thankyou, however I wish I was a better one. With the amount of hours I spend away from them at work I like to treat them when I have a day off.

hold back Cameron, you will give him a big head. :D

Sounds like you had fun dobbo, fortunately i didnt have to take marcos to far to see snow this year we had a few days where we were graced with white stuff, i dont know what it is with kids but they just dont seem to feel the cold, their gloves could be soaked and hands frozen and they keep on going.

Reminds me of a trip to mt walker in later winter and George130's son Lauchie was tearing **** through the river at lunch, we were frozen on dry land but Lauchie just kept on ploughing through that water, didnt phase him one bit.
