Some people have a lot of time on their hands! That first one was very clever.

I love creativity, just genius. The Thunderbirds rescue gets me!

Why don't we all run up a few other creative ideas?

Like: Pump the hull full of helium and let it float into space,
or,
call godzilla!

Over to you(se)

Good one dullbird!

You know, it aint going anywhere, tourism newcastle has a hidden anchor,
holding it firmly to the reef/beach:D

How about this?:

Rig up a few masts, lots of sails and wait for a westerly wind?

About time Bob Hudson came back and did a revised "The Newcastle Song" with a few references to the Pasha, eh, Simon...;)

Given where it is, there is another way, - forward!

Get all the (not Land Rover) 4wd dudes to dig up the beach, create a channel and let the surf and wind push it into the river! It would easily slide over the roofs of lotsa sunk Pootrols and 'cruisers...
we know that lot are very good at sinking their 'cars'.......

Get about 1 million fat bastards like me to jump into the sea on high tide and watch the ship just float away like a rubber ducky in the bath.

On the same line, just dump all the Jap crap in the sea, the sea level will come up and in a year or 2 they would have rusted away with no sign of ever being there, thats something you couldnt do with a landy, too much Ally.

If that doesnt work, some cheap chinese winches off ebay, a couple of hundred with snatch blocks to some arb sand ancors would do it easy.

Just a few of the stupidest things I could think of.

my guess is you will jump in and the water will jump out leaving the boat totally on the sea bed................oh wait thats ok we can build a shopping centre around it............i always wanted to get my grocceries from a ships hull.

since the tide is influenced by the gravitational forces of a large body, couldnt we just get dobbo to come stand up the front during high tide? thats got to add a meter or 2 surely....

or should we just put him out on a tug and let the pasha sucumb to his gravitational pull?

dullbird
27th June 2007, 06:06 PM
maybe see if dobbo will organise another indian night then you can all go to the edge of the shore drop yeh pants and blow her away.............

Bushie
27th June 2007, 09:26 PM
Don't worry about it, once they decide its really stuck and needs to be cut up, a whole bunch of Indians will arrive and it'll be gone overnight.

well, they appear to have turned the bow a few metres out

I understand that one of the tow lines has snapped however - hope they "pull it off" as they say...

29th June 2007, 11:25 AM
Yes they have snapped a tow cable!, we gust got a request at work to charter another 800Kg Reel off synthetic cable down there :o HA HA, Fat chance getting that in one of our aircraft, we bumped it off to another company who runs a Beech 18 out of Redcliffe, they should have it down ther in an hour or two (before high tide):p P.S. i did offer to the guy that called up that i would Snatch it out with the landy:twisted: some people have no sense of humor, I guess he wasn't a Landy driver then:angel:

Quiggers

I think you'll be getting a few more calls Paul.

The radio news is reporting three snapped cables.

Serious Land Roverites should get down to the Pasha and 'acquire' the broken cables,
might need a bigger winch tho', if you get my drift....

omg, a pun.......

I thought the idea of a radar was so you could see other things and not run into them.

Its obviously not working - they couldn't see the mainland :D:D

The radar worked perfectly Bushie...the boat is high and dry:twisted:

Maybe they were seasick and wanted some stability.....

Anyhoo, it aint going anywhere in a hurry...

Actually, I have a question here for our experts: What's breaking strength of the tow cables?

I have it on good authority, it's tied in with Accessories on the ignition switch. Seems the Salvage Master wanted to light his fag & demanded the Cigar Lighter be activated.

They havnt stoped since it ran aground, never seen so many helicopters, they seem to be constantly flying around it or droping stuff off there, i took some pictures of them when i first noticed, but the novelty of watching helicopter deliverys has worn off now :)

youd think that with all the choppers hanging around you could just hook the pasher up to the choppers and lift the bloody thing off.

wonder how many are actually involved and how many are business men/pilots with $$$ to burn and want good seats

there's only one way to get this tub off the beach.
i have this theory that if we can build a massive concentrated light beam, which for now i'll call a "laser", and aim it at the polar ice caps thereby melting them and raising the sea level enough to rescue the ship.
everyone is happy!
well maybe everyone except the population of the Maldives, bali, thailand, florida, bahamas, etc

Weve got some perlers doing the emails ATM, however due to the fact that they are so freaking huge we cant get them out of the sytem till the PR boys ownscale em, ITs not a priority for them due to some other ummmm stuff they have to process (i think its porn) so you might see them next year when its all forgotten about.

Didn't see that, must have made the minister for harbours look good.

I really was skeptical.
The way she was balanced on the reef of rock about midships, I thought she was close to breaking her back at one stage. Then she started to tear her double bottom, as she was slewed around on the rocks.
I reckon they were lucky to get her off.

The tug of war...

a whole bunch of ****ed of 4x4 owning newcastelonians all with snatch straps, winches. tow cables, Dudes with sand anchors and Tirfors, Yobbos on hills hoist line in their tshirt shorts and thongs

All tyring to pull it back on shore against the tugs, a syncronus cry over every part of the electromagnetic spectrum adressable by any radio that could have been hand held and battery driven or vechile mounted.

"Give it back ya buggers, We want another cherry venture...."
