This thread is on Rangerovers net and if correct, looks like LR is going to be a leader in the field for a long time to come.

I like this bit
“Land Rover design will be all about clever body structures and platforms. It won’t be agricultural or utilitarian,” says McGovern, “but clean and contemporary with a level of ‘premium-ness’ about it.”
It looks like my 300Tdi Defender will only increase in value :D
I think a good set of criteria to look at in market research is what value the vehicles retain on the 2nd hand market. This is a good indicator of the enduring attributes of a vehicle, and the ones that people are prepared to PAY $$$$ for. These are the ones manufacturers should concentrate on.
There are a lot of buzz words in that sentence :
“Land Rover design will be all about clever body structures and platforms. It won’t be agricultural or utilitarian,” says McGovern, “but clean and contemporary with a level of ‘premium-ness’ about it.”

Fascinating...
I wonder if Ford has found a buyer yet; who agrees with this plan?
Or has Ford changed its plan to sell off Land Rover?
