I'm about to set off from Sydney for the Corner Country (SA/QLD/NSW) in my 300 tdi Defender which has a sun visor fitted above the windscreen. How detrimental to fuel efficiency are these visors? Has anyone done any comparisons with and without them fitted? Cheers.

IMO they are just a parachute but a Defender is no aerodynamic wonder either.
The TD5 'fender my old one has ended up on (I just hate the look ) continues to get amazing fuel economy, so probably doesn't matter.

Defender is a brick with a engine, with the wind resistance of a windsock on a gusty day.

I would like an external sun visor (for various reasons) but you'd be surprised how hard it is to find someone that makes them these days.
Try running "sun visor" through google and all you get are the interior sun visors.
Use to be that you'd see 'em on Combi's etc. all the time but not so much anymore....

There may be and if you have a name handy that would be nice :) But for the life of me so far I haven't been successful in google or the yellow pages... I'm not even 100% sure they are called Sun Visors, in which case my googling is getting me no-where :(
