six stacker?? what the hell is that fitted to??????
I am replacing the standard head unit, but because it's a double din (thickness of head unit measurement) I need a new facia plate to fill the gap left by the smaller unit. If you know of one please let me know where the Flying frog freckle I can get one, it's driving me nuts.

I'm about to replace our six stacker for one of them new fangled iPod compatible units, like you Twitchy the head unit is the obstacle, it's actually not double din it's one and a half din, the double din units we looked at were too big and the single are just too small, this is were it's stupid nobody makes a half din gap filler:mad:
Well that we have found anyway.

The six stackers are a straight retro-fit into the D1's, but need the cable from head unit to player,,
these are not obtainable from anywhere but the donor vehicle
evil-bayers beware,,,

Strathfield have half Din's I bought one.
When you take the LR unit out you do not need it.
A normal unit fits straight in the LR unit has a silly lip thing that fools you.
thats what my 99 Disco was like any way,

Oh Twitchy.....
Theres no facia made because it doesnt need one...

And when you do get one, go to autobarn and get an iso adapter loom for $15 as it allows a 2 min installation. theyre available for jvc/sony/pioneer etc.

Get one of the units you can plug a flash drive into, negates the need for cd stackers. I am sure that Kenwood make them

I have a Pioneer unit on the way http://www.pioneer.com.au/products/car_entertainment/CD_Tuners/DEH2950MP
that one to be precise, I also have a 2gig sd card in my phone which is full of tunes & will be plugged into the unit while we are offroad ( no skipping CD's that way) or on long trips.
Thanks for all the tips folks...:twobeers::thumbsup:

Thanks Tony, but by the sounds of it i won't need it if the unit is 1 din and the face of our unit is false.
I knew i should have asked here before looking around.

BMW Round Pin
ISO

How does one get the stereo out without the Radio Keys? Has everyone sought a set or improvised?
