Hi

is there any big performance difference between solid core and multistrand cored RG58 when used on UHF aerial cabling?

is there any big performance difference between solid core and multistrand cored RG58 when used on UHF aerial cabling?

My guess would be no (Or not noticeable at any rate) as you never see different specs listed for different "types" of RG58, and that you'd need to go to the higher spec RG213 to get lower loss per metre.

My understanding (from when I did my diploma) was, Solid for permanent installations (no movement in cable) and multicore for flexible applications.
