Any lpg manifold tank pics?

Hi all
as i am in the process of buying a discovery v8, i am also looking at having gas fitted. i am considering the option of having a manifold gas tank fitted in the boot, and wondered if anyone has pics of this sort of tank fitted to their discovery? for those who dont know what this tank is its 3 smaller tanks welded together and are about 6 inches high and sits the rear floor.
how does this affect the 7 seaters?
also any pics of your setups under bonnets etc.
also who is running vapor injection over the normal mixer and what is the economy difference?

I almost bought a disco 2 prior buying mine which I was 10 minutes late on it had 3 tanks the size of scuba tanks on the floor it also was 7 seater but the rear seats could no longer be used but it was a good idea I would have removed the seats and placed in those storage cells it had a false floor which covered the tanks it looked good

sorry this is the only pic I can find at the mo top of shelf that I made up is 260mm off the floor over the top of the 3 manifold tanks

thats what i wanted to see. So in a seven seater would than make the rear seats useless as rovernit said?

I have a number of photos of the tank and engine bay install in my SI Disco - the two here show the APA manifold tank positioning from the front and rear of the loadspace. In the SI it is a tight squeeze between the rear seats and the rear door - there's only about 40mm to spare. My tanks were designed for a Falcon station wagon spare wheel well and I had to trim the mounting legs back a little to fit the space available. I believe the loadspace in a SII is about 150mm longer. If you'd like more details I can supply them tomorrow.

you loose that little bit of cargo space but its better than losing the fuel tank and having it replace with a 30 L mini tank. i think that is the way to go.

I've lost 250mm in floor height with the tanks but that still leaves plenty of room for storage and my German Shepherd was still able to sit fully upright (which was an important consideration!) on the false floor. I had the bottom cut off the Milford cargo barrier and it sits on top of the new false floor and the bottom mounts are now bolted onto the rear wheel arches.

It will be a bit limiting for camping but I've got dibs on a camper trailer which will handle everything nicely (I'm just awaiting capital expenditure approval from the Office of War and Finance on that one).

There's also a bit of storage available around the tanks for tool kit, spare water, jumper leads, a rope and shovel as you can see from the photo.

My vehicle also has a Long Ranger fuel tank, side panel tank and sill tanks so I've got 200Lt petrol capacity which I wanted to keep for the desert rips in the future. The LPG tank is 60Lt water capacity and holds 50 - 52Lt of LPG depending on the filler pump pressure, which gives me 200Km range on LPG for town running, and about 220Km on the open road.

I had a 1996 D1 V8 (until I rolled the thing off a bridge) and I had scuba tanks - but they were fitted under the vehicle - it did mean that the original petol tank was replaced with a smaller one - but it also meant that I kept the use of the two rear seats.

LPGas1 in Lillydale did my conversion - and it was very neat.
