Being fairly new here I wonder what this rave cd is? Also did the defender ever come as a king cab version with tray back?

RAVE CD's are the Land Rover worshop manuals - on a CD, the pages are in PDF format, and the pages are indexed so you can go to a particular catagory without having to hunt through pages and pges.
A very good investment in my view, and sales of these CD's help supprt this forum/web site.

Yes to the king cab version. I think it was a 130 with a single cab with a little extra space behind the seats. Great if you want a single cab and get your seats to go all the way back. Some taller drivers have a problem with this in a standard single cab.
Most of the Defenders with the extra cab that I've heard of are ex govt, Telstra/power, and come with a pile of extra goodies, but maybe a bit of a hard life. There are a couple of owners on the forum.
Cheers

Thanks again. I am toying with the idea of a king cab defender with a piggyback camper. Any good?

Better than good - brilliant I reckon.
So long as you are talking about one of the many good off-road slide on campers that fit within the dimensions of the tray.
Something like this.

I agree with VNX205.Mine is really good, except when the gearbox oil cooler comes loose and fries the box.Mine is an ex telstra 130 extra cab and it is terrific for me as I am quite tall. The larger cab on mine is not well built and shakes on corrugations, making the doors rattle.I think it has inadequate support to the chassis outriggers and will try various strategies as time permits. The Telstra vehicles are well equiped with accessories, mine has everything I could want except a rear difflock.Slightly large turning circle is a penalty for the 130 but it has marvellous carrying capacity. The Trayon camper is on my future purchase list as it is well built and relatively low profile while opening out to the side so the door is out of the dust most of the time and you can tow things without them getting in the way.Quite a few slide on campers open to the rear.My 130 is a high mileage vehicle but is not showing much evidence of suffering because of it.Cheers, 130man

Hi all,
Is it just the standard manuals on the CD? I'm after a carby overhaul manual (like the Haynes Weber/Stromberg/SU manual)... Would that be on the CD?
I've checked the above link, but it sounds similar to my Land Rover manual (Publication Part No. AKM3630), published by Land Rover Ltd.
Can anyone help?
